Experience a climb-up with a trained fixed wireless service provider field technician and learn about what it takes to install a wireless radio connections with antennas on a tower.

This video looks at a wireless Internet service provider's (WISP) perspective. Learn about some of the safety precautions and equipment.

Matt Jennings, National Sales Manager for Streakwave Wireless, talks about antennas, antenna gain, directivity and their importance in link design.

Learn about the different types of antennas and the best ways to use them in a wide range of solutions and applications.

Understanding basic antenna patterns can help you optimize your connection and make the best product and placement choices. Learn more about antenna patterns with Streakwave Wireless Sales Manager Matt Jennings.

If unobstructed, radio waves will travel in a straight line from the transmitter to the receiver. However, if there are obstacles near the path, the radio waves may reflect off those objects and arrive out of phase, reducing the power of the received signal.

Learn how to calculate the best zones for antenna reception and transmission. Determine which obstacles will cause problems and how to remedy a solution to them.

This episode covers the basics of backhaul link. You will learn the definition of the backhaul, review the differences between wireless and wired backhaul, look into backhaul equipment and how to optimize backhaul links for different purposes.

Matt Jennings, National Sales Manager of Streakwave, in a simple but informative manner guides you through different aspects of backhaul usage.

Matt Jennings explains antenna reciprocity and how to use this antenna property to enhance your link.

System Operating Margin (SOM) is the difference between the signal a radio is actually receiving vs. what it needs for good data recovery (i.e. receiver sensitivity). Matt Jennings explains the principle behind the calculation of SOM.

Streakwave Wireless is pleased to present an educational overview of mutiple-in and multiple out (MIMO) antenna technology. Guest presenter, Jaime Fink, Chief Product Officer for Mimosa Networks describes how MIMO works and compares to other types of antennas. Learn about MIMO and new advances.

See Aruba Instant Access Points by Aruba Networks solving an internet problem at a residential deployment in Wyoming. The location contained a significant amount of high-end A/V equipment causing lots of RF interference. The network system that was previously installed was unable to maintain the signal strength resulting in poor performance. Wyoming Sight and Sound contacted Streakwave wireless and sourced Aruba Instant Access Points that provided great coverage and mitigated RF interference.

The Mauian Hotel property was experiencing major signal disruption from adjacent hotels. Together, Streakwave and Lava Barrel suggested the following solution:

  • Aruba Networks Instant Access Points with an integrated virtual controller;
  • Backhauls using 900 MHz equipment;
  • Appropriate weatherproof enclosures with integrated antennas;
  • Aruba Networks "Airwave" software for network monitoring and management.

After installation, the connection quality was improved by 90% or better and they now achieve aggregate throughputs of 60-70Mbps.

Discover how Streakwave Wireless and crescommwifi, a Washington-based WISP, integrator, and hot spot provider, came up with a creative solution to solve Wi-Fi coverage problems at the thirty-third annual Washington State International Kite Festival.

Utilizing MikroTik's RB/433 RouterBOARD and ITELITE's weather-resistant enclosures, they created a hot spot that deployed seamless Wi-Fi connections for dozens of vendors and thousands of attendees at this week-long celebration and competition.
